“i left this here for you to read” is a non-commercial, collaboratively-created
handmade magazine.
About once or twice a month, they print 50 copies of a new
issue of their magazine. Then they leave them in public places (such as on subway
seats, on park benches, in dentist office waiting rooms, etc.) - after mailing
two copies each to everyone who has helped out with that particular issue.
Anyone can join their organization. They can do so by submitting prose, poetry, fiction, images, or objects; or by helping to edit, produce, or distribute the magazine. Everyone who participates will receive full credit, and all creators retain full legal and copyrights to their work. They cannot send or sell you a copy, or reprint a past issue for you; the only way to receive one is to find it in public, or to help create or distribute it in the first place.
The magazine was originally started by artist Tim Devin in
2008, and now involves well over 100 people. To date, they’ve distributed their
