Jul På Papiret (Christmas on Paper) is an annual competition to promote Norwegian design and illustration whilst at the same time help to focus on a humanitarian organization and their work through a financial contribution.
In 2008, Christmas on Paper supported Save the Children and their work for asylum seeker children in Norway. The three winning designers, Darling Clementine, Håvard Hesten and Kjersti Barli will have their designs printed on exclusive gift boxes sold in the Ark-bookstores across the country in the Christmas preparations.
On top of the humanitarian focus, the 2008 brief took an important sustainability focus, asking the students to design a reusable box, rather than wrapping paper. The idea is simple and hopes to encourage people to waste less paper.
