MuvRebel is a not-for-profit organization formed by medical students, doctors and activists. It was born in Mexico in 2005 but now it has members worldwide. Their movement is based on principles of Hippocratic Oath, punk idealism and ideas against medical corruption at every level, even in medicine schools.
When a crisis of moral values among university students emerged in the faculty of medicine, MuvRebel appeared: based on nihilist ideologies, the punk movement, the Revolutionary Intercommunality of the "Black Panther" and combined with certain moral codes as Bushido, the Hippocratic Oath, universal values of equality, liberty and fraternity, all this converged to form what is today the MuvRebel. This movement is not about being a moral guide, it is a promotion of the right to freedom of expression, which makes us an independent nation, humane and generous.
They promote medical values in a nonconventional way, by organizing sport events, rock gigs and concerts for fundrasing and social meetings to promote public health within the low income population.
Mexico and Latin-America struggle with several issues on corruption. These systems infiltrate even among college students, who learn corruption from others and like this medical values are lost in Latin-American college universities. Muvrebel believes they can inspire change in students mentality and in their way of living using social activities and by promoting liberty through rock&roll ideology, in a responsable way and through social activism.
They have afiliations in many health and social NGOs worldwide.
They have a Facebook group .
