The mission of Helpedia.org is to make it as easy as possible to find good causes and the relevant NGOs respectively.
This is done through a directory of NGOs in Germany which can be searched by areas of work, location etc. This is accompanied by a volunteer-exchange and a listing of requests for donations in kind.
Since there is no official NGO-Index available to the public, Helpedia is encouraging NGOs to set up and maintain an account by themselves.
About 2 month after launch Helpedia has about 1.500 NGOs listed but hopes grow even faster in the future since the total number of NGOs in Germany is approximately 200.000 (excluding sport clubs).
